Canada’s Halifax Convention Centre (Halifax) has again achieved AIPC Quality Standards Gold Level Certification, following a external audit conducted by the programme’s designated auditor. The re-certification reinforces Halifax’s position among an elite group of more than 30 AIPC centres worldwide that have attained and maintained this international benchmark of excellence developed specifically for the convention centre industry.
The AIPC Quality Standards programme provides an independent and structured evaluation of a centre’s management performance across key management areas and remains the only certification tailored exclusively to convention and exhibition centres. The external auditor commended the Centre for its clear documentation, robust cybersecurity programme, and the strong alignment between its AIPC Quality Standards improvement initiatives and its overall strategic objectives.
The certification audit assesses eleven key management areas that capture the evolving priorities of the global meetings industry: Customer Service, Quality of Facilities and Operations, Employee Relations, Health, Safety, Security and Emergency Response, Financial Integrity, Community Relations, Environmental Responsibility, Industry Relations, Inclusivity, and Supplier Relations.
AIPC president Julianne Jammers congratulated the Halifax Convention Centre on its achievement: “The Halifax team has shown a remarkable dedication to continuous improvement and alignment with international best practices. Their Gold Level re-certification underlines both operational excellence and a strong strategic vision for the future.”
Carrie Cussons, president & CEO of the Halifax Convention Centre, added: “Achieving AIPC Gold certification is a proud milestone for our team. It reflects our commitment to service excellence, community impact, and inclusive, sustainable operations, and confirms Halifax Convention Centre’s position among the world’s leading convention destinations.”
