Detroit convention centre Huntington Place has announced the appointment of Hassan Shahlaei as the new general manager of Sodexo Live!, the center’s hospitality and catering partner.
Shahlaei has worked in catering and banquet operations since 2010, a career that has included roles at leading hospitality destinations, among them Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Caesars Entertainment, and MGM Resorts.

Shahlaei’s appointment marks a new chapter for Huntington Place’s hospitality programme as the venue aims to elevate conventions, conferences, and events in Detroit and throughout the region.
Huntington Place has 723,000 sq.ft of exhibition space and 200,000 sq.ft of meeting room space. It features one of the largest contiguous exhibition floors in North America and the venue is LEED Gold certified.
