American Express Global Business Travel (AMEX GBT), a software and services company for travel, meetings and expense management, has unveiled the world’s top meetings and events destinations for 2026.
The EMEA findings place London, Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Paris among the continent’s most sought-after cities for business gatherings in the year ahead. The 2026 meetings and events forecast outlines evolving business travel preferences and the factors shaping those decisions.
London has retained its position as Europe’s leading meetings destination, praised for its international accessibility, diverse venue offering and rich cultural landscape. Respondents frequently cited the city’s strong transport links and dynamic business environment as key reasons for its continued appeal.
Amsterdam is the only new entrant on the EMEA list, recognised for its walkability, innovative venues and strong emphasis on local experiences. According to AMEX, demand is being driven by the need for seamless transport connections and direct flights across EMEA and beyond, combined with the draw of historic landmarks and destinations with vibrant local cultures.
Global findings show a shift in North America, where Las Vegas has overtaken Chicago as the go-to destination for corporate meetings, with Orlando entering the ranking in fourth place. In Latin America, Mexico City has claimed the top spot, boosted by its accessibility, cost effectiveness and the growing preference for leisure-oriented venues that provide comprehensive event packages.
Across APAC, Singapore and Tokyo have held steady in their rankings, while Hong Kong has risen, reflecting renewed confidence and increased regional connectivity.
